T2COM, along with other security partners, faces elevated Homeland threats following recent hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
The ongoing conflict raises the potential for elevated physical threats within the U.S. Homeland.
Potential Targets include U.S. Military and Government Facilities
The Government of Iran may seek to threaten or target US military and government personnel and facilities, Jewish and Israeli institutions and perceived supporters, and Iranian dissidents and anti‑regime activists in the United States. Additionally, violent extremists motivated by a range of ideologies—including opposition to the United States or Israel—could exploit the conflict as perceived justification for violence.
What Past Actions Indicate
The escalation of hostilities and retaliatory attacks in the Middle East have historically produced copycat actions and opportunistic plots by ideologically motivated actors. In the current environment, threat vectors may include harassment or intimidation campaigns against diaspora communities, reconnaissance of government and military facilities, and attempts to exploit insider access in critical infrastructure.
