The Operational Environment
The OE is a dynamic composite of conditions, circumstances, and influences that shape the decisions of the unit commander and the deployment and employment of military forces, as well as other instruments of national power. It encompasses all variables that affect where Soldiers will train or fight. We are the Army's proponent for the Operational Environment (OE).

The U.S. Army utilizes the Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) to prepare soldiers for complex scenarios worldwide. This complex OE contains exceptionally realistic conditions, enabling soldiers to train effectively for diverse challenges they may encounter on the battlefield.Â
OE Applications
T2COM G2 has developed several highly valuable applications including ODIN, ION, and ESA, providing robust tools for intelligence analysis and operational support. These applications enhance efficiency and effectiveness across various military functions.
OE OPFOR
AR 350-2 designates TRADOC G2 as the go-to for the Army’s Opposing Forces (OPFOR) Program. OPFOR, used in training instead of real enemies or threats, offers a flexible mix of forces and tactics to simulate realistic scenarios.
