PLA Theater Army Defense Against a U.S. Army Corps

This graphic represents a multidomain, Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) theater command defense in-depth against a U.S. Army corps attack. The U.S. Army corps is acting as a joint task force, using two divisions to create and exploit successive penetrations while integrating joint and unmanned systems to erode PLA advantages in range, massed fires, and information. The PLA response scales accordingly: the theater command would employ multiple group armies under a joint campaign directed by the theater joint operations command center, supported by PLA Rocket Force; PLA Air Force; and PLA Navy assets, including maritime militia and Chinese coast guard. These are further enabled by the Information Support Force, Aerospace Force, Cyberspace Force, and Joint Logistics Support Force.
